WINDSOR Royals Youth Under-13s (U13) suffered a 2-1 defeat against Maidenhead Warriors in the Thames Valley Football Development League on Saturday.

The Royals started brightly but Maidenhead soon came into the game and took the lead on 27 minutes.

John Hern broke with a powerful run down the right wing and played the ball along the six-yard box where George Wood was able to prod home.

Windsor responded with a goal of their own almost immediately. A move down the right saw the ball crossed into the box where Charlie Reid was on hand to score.

The winning goal for the Warriors arrived in the 47th minute as Ben Nisbet powered a free-kick from the edge of the box into the top corner.

Golden Eagles were beaten 4-2 at home against Slough Town Junior.

Slough grabbed a two-goal lead in the first-half but the Eagles regrouped in the second and managed to equalise with goals from Alan Zych and Billy Blackman.

However, Slough scored two more goals late on and clinched the match.

Burnham Junior Leopards Blue U12s thrashed Singh Sabha Slough Youth 10-0, while Langley won 4-1 away at FC Cippenham Wolves. FC Explorers Red beat Boyne Hill Boys & Girls 3-1 at home.

Maidenhead Warriors U10s romped to a 6-1 victory over Boyne Hill Bullets Greens.

The Warriors seized the initiative right from the start and were 4-1 ahead at half-time. The pick of the first-half goals came from Robert Hern, with a long range, angled shot that flew into the top corner.

Boyne Hill came more into the game in the second-half but Maidenhead scored two further un-answered goals to increase their lead further.

Golden Eagles Flyers lost 5-3 to Boyne Hill Buccaneers in a close match with the scores level at three apiece going into the final few minutes. Boyne Hill scored two quick goals at the end to make certain of the victory.

The Eagles scorers were Franek Hermanowski, Hamza Ashfaq and Caden Rutherford.

One minute of silence was observed before the start of all league matches.
