SLOUGH Jets extended their impressive winning streak in the National Ice Hockey League this season to 13 matches after a 5-4 victory against rivals Bracknell Hornets on Saturday.

The Jets have not tasted defeat since September and their latest win sees them remain in second position in the South Two table.

A Sean Norris brace plus a goal from player-coach Lukas Smital gave the home side a clear lead at the first buzzer in the Slough Ice Arena.

Slough further extended their advantage when Adam Rosbottom found the back of the net three minutes into the second period, before Bracknell pulled a goal back through Jack Tarczycki.

The Hornets were buzzing in the final period and levelled the scores at 4-4 thanks to a Adam Bicknell brace plus a goal from Jakub Fojtik.

However, the Jets had the final say when Smital scored to secure the two points with six minutes left on the clock.

The win means Slough are now five points behind leaders Chelmsford Chieftains but with two matches in hand ahead of a visit from the table toppers on Saturday 12th January (5.45pm).
