ALL three Windsor teams in action won their games in Super Saturday last week.

Windsor Ladies 2nds continued their battle for Trysports Three Counties League Division Four promotion with a comfortable 3-1 away win against Scarlet Runners.

The visitors opened the scoring in the first five minutes when Nicole McKersie released Lucy Smith, and she made no mistake as she drilled the ball past the keeper.

Minutes later Paula Green forced a great save from the Runners' goalie, but Smith grabbed her brace as she tucked away the rebound.

However, Windsor had to remain focused as West Berkshire side Runners fought back and were saved by defender Emma Briggs with a heart-stopping goalmouth clearance from a penalty corner.

At the other end, Windsor were clinical from a penalty corner of their own and a well worked routine saw Green add the third before half time with a straight strike from the top of the D.

In the second half, Windsor continued to dominate, but could not find a way through to add to their tally.

And with 20 minutes to go they threw Runners a lifeline by conceding another short corner, which the hosts converted for a consolation goal.

After a week off, Windsor ladies travel to Bicester in Division One tomorrow (Saturday).

Windsor men were 2-1 winners against Ashford 2nds with goals from Frank Schuddemat and Sean Wright in MBBO Division Two.

Tomorrow they host Abingdon.

In Division Five, Windsor 2nds won 4-1 against Amersham & Chalfont 3rds at home.

John Carpenter bagged a brace and Paul Hayes and Ed Lumley were also on the scoresheet.
