STEVE Easterbrook has taken the decision to stand down as Chairman at Slough Town Football Club.
Easterbrook made his decision after the final home game of this season, the 1-1 draw with Eastbourne Borough at Arbour Park on Easter Monday.
A statement on the official club website said: "I don't think this is a complete surprise as I did announce my intentions over two years ago.
"It has been a remarkable journey and I would like to thank everyone for their help and support, without which the club wouldn't be where it is today.
"The club is in a strong position to continue to move forwards, and of course I will still be around to help and assist as required.
"In the meantime, Vice Chairman, John Porter will be acting Chairman.
"It has taken a huge amount of effort to get the club to where it is and I couldn't have done it alone. Once again thank you to everyone, be it volunteer, supporter, sponsor, manager or player as without you all we wouldn't be where we are today - strong and confident about our future.
"If I don’t see you before, have a great summer and see you on the terraces next season."
