THE Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) team for the Alder Valley Boys League match in Eton on Saturday was hard hit by the clash with the Youth Development League Premier Division meeting the following day.
went into the Alder Valley match at the Thames Valley Athletics Centre with few athletes in the Under 17 age group, resulting in seventh place overall in the nine team event.
The club amassed a total of 359 points to finish behind winners Bracknell (635) with Camberley (537) in second place and Reading (519) third.
The best result from the few athletes that contested the U17 events came from Jack Campbell, who set a new personal best when finishing fourth in the 800m with two minutes and 11.5 seconds (2:11.5). Charlie Turner was runner-up in the B string on 2:14.4, another PB.
The U15 sprints saw Zac Richardson equal his best in winning his 100m race in 12.3 seconds (secs). Basil Tuma was on form in the 200m, winning in a close to best time of 23.7secs.
Jack Staunton was another to set a PB of 44.1secs in taking fourth place in the 300m. Adam Sfendla set a new best in finishing third in the B race in 44.2secs.
The best performance in the 800m came from Oliver Lewis with his clocking of 2:22.1, another PB, for third place.
The best of the field events came in the long jump where Demari Gumbs was third with 4.86m, again a PB.
The U13 sprinters performed well. Rashaad Derby was fourth in the 100m on 13.4 secs, with Xavier Williams winning the B race in 14.5secs. This pairing also contested the 200m with the same placings - Derby equalling his best with 27.4secs, with Williams on 29.5secs.
The 800m provided a victory for Aidan Elford with a new best of 2:31.2, with Evan Hardy also clocking a best of 2:39.1 for third in the B string.
Nathan Rollins was way out in front in the 1,500m with yet another best of 4:52.5, with Alex Didaskalou second in the B string on 5:16.9.
The best of the field events came in the high jump where Isiah Samuel won with a 1.30m clearance.
The meeting ended on a high note for WSEH with a victory in the 4x100m for the U15 team of Adam Nuhu, Basil Tuma, Hasan Humadi and Hershel Joshi in 50.6secs.
It was second place for the U13 team of Rashaad Derby, Xavier Williams, Isiah Samuel and Tigram Kovalov in a time of 57.1secs.
