WOKINGHAM A lost their opening Kennet League Division One East match 87-68, their winning rink skipped by Gerry Deeves.

In Division Two East, Wokingham B lost 90-49 to Desborough with the rink of skip Sam Welsh along with George Hayne, Keith Roberts and Barry Pither winning 18-16.

Wokingham C lost 108-38 to Maiden Erlegh, the rink skipped by Alan Hughes (19-14) the only successful one.

In the Kennet LV League, Wokingham A won an inter-club Division One battle 61-33 against Wokingham B.

Top triple for the A team was skipped by Bob Thompson along with Andy Franklin and Ron Swan who won 25-6, but there was also a good win for the B team with George Hayne along with Terry Oakes and Mike Drinkwater winning 19-12.

In Division Three, Wokingham C were thumped 84-24 by Reading B, while Wokingham D lost to the same opponents 53-36.

In Division One of the Thames Valley Ladies League, Wokingham Acorns overcame Reading 56-37.

Wokingham Oakapples beat Woodley 31-16 in a game called off after 10 ends due to bad weather in Division Two.

The ladies advanced in the Top Club County Competition with a victory at Windsor & Eton, and will next play Maidenhead Town.

Wokingham avoided a clean sweep of defeats on their annual tour to Herefordshire as they beat Kingsland 125-96.

A total of 55 players and eight supporters went on the tour, which also featured defeats to Eastnor (145-104), Ledbury (103-84), St. Martin's (114-83), Hereford (113-108) and Leominster (97-90).

SUNNINGDALE began their Kennet League Division Two East campaign with a 93-57 win against Maidenhead Town B.

Their top rink featured Les Green, Don Allston, Ken Johnson and skip Derek Cooper.

In Division One East of the Kennet LV League, Sunningdale edged out Maidenhead Town A 56-54, with their two winning rinks made up of skip Bob Montgomery, Green and Alan Isted, and skip Brian Webb, Brian Munden and Peter Sparks.

GREAT Hollands A lost their opening Kennet League Division Two East encounter 92-74 at home to Caversham A.

In Division Two Central East of the Kennet LV League, Great Hollands B downed Great Hollands C 63-44.

Great Hollands ladies advanced in the Top Club County Competition with a victory against Trentham. They will play Desborough in the next round.
