DATCHET got the new Home Counties Premier Cricket League season under way with an impressive 10-wicket win at Finchampstead on Saturday.

Finchampstead won the coin toss and elected to bat first but were bowled out for 125 runs in 36.1 overs.

Captain Dan Lincoln top-scored with 32 runs from 57 balls, with Josh Lincoln adding 20 and opener Gregory Smith 19.

Oliver Birch was the destroyer-in-chief for the visitors with his figures of 4-26 from 9.1 overs including the wickets of Dan and Josh Lincoln.

Steven Naylor claimed Simon Bell (9) and Zachary Jones (16) in his 2-25, while other wickets fell to Oliver Smithson (1-13) and David Brent (1-24).

had no problem chasing down the runs for the win, reaching 129-0 in 22.1 overs.

Opening batsman Joe Barrett and captain Naylor finished unbeaten with 70 and 54 runs respectively. Barrett hit eight boundaries and two maximums, while Naylor struck the ball to the boundary on nine occasions.

Datchet welcome Aston Rowant to the Wally Gage Memorial Ground this Saturday (11.30am start).

Slough got the new season in Division One under way with a 58-run defeat at the hands of Buckingham Town last weekend.

chose to field first at Upton Court Road with the visitors reaching 199 runs all out in 50 overs.

Andrew Hall top-scored with 83 runs from 91 balls with eight boundaries and two maximum hits. He put on 61 runs for the third wicket with Jonathan Cater (14).

Leigh Tomlinson added 23 and fellow opener Callum Price 15, while Russell White made 17 bating at number nine.

Rishi Sharath was the pick of the Slough bowlers with his figures of 3-46 from 10 overs, including the wicket of Hall.

Saif Zaib backed him up with 3-53 from 10 overs, with Harish Kakani taking 2-32 in his seven overs.

Slough managed 141 all out in 44 overs to suffer defeat on the opening day of the new season.

Captain Goutham Shrikrishna top-scored with 32 runs from 67 balls, including two boundaries, before he was trapped leg before wicket by Albert Johnson.

Zaib (26) and Nabil Shah (25) put on 47 runs for the first wicket but only Sulaiman Akhtar (14) and Mohammed Avas (13) could also reach double figures.

George Humphries was the pick of the Buckingham bowlers with his figures of 3-14 from 10 overs, including three maidens.

Jack Parish took the wickets of Daniyal Akhtar (4) and Adam Ali (1) in his 2-20, while Ranitha Liyanarachchi took 2-30.
