SINGH Sabha completed a cup treble this season after beating FC Beaconsfield 3-1 in the East Berkshire League Cup final.

produced a professional performance at the Gore in Burnham with the catalyst a brace from centre back Harprit Purewal.

Singh Sabha had already secured the Maidenhead Norfolkian Senior Cup and Slough Town Senior Cup, but knew they were in for a tough game against an unpredictable Beaconsfield side.

The Beaconsfield keeper was busy in the early stages but Sabha finally scored through an unlikely source as the ever present Purewal found the back of the net with a stunning strike.

Beaconsfield failed to clear a corner and it was headed back into the box by Jagdeep Bhuller. Purewal latched onto it with a fierce half-volley and shot across the keeper.

Singh Sabha kept on going and doubled their lead as Omar Riaz got on the act, scoring with a neat left-foot finish after driving into the box and beating his man.

With minutes to go before half-time, Sabha switched off at the back and conceded a penalty which Beaconsfield dispatched to reduce the deficit.

Singh Sabha started the second half well and had the ball in the back of the net as Pritpal Raju broke clear and crossed for Purewal to slide home. The goal however was disallowed as Raju was adjudged to have been offside in the build up.

It was becoming a frustrating game for Sabha in front of goal as more chances went begging including Riaz hitting the post.

Singh Sabha finally got the two-goal cushion again as man of the moment Purewal headed home from a Hardeep Soor free-kick.

Captain Mampreet Randhawa lifted the cup as his side continued their good cup form this season.
