NORTH Maidenhead maintained their perfect start to the new season after a nine-wicket win at Gerrards Cross in Division One on Saturday.

The visitors to Dukes Lane won the toss and put their hosts into bat, with Gerrards Cross reaching 133 runs all out from 33.5 overs.

Number three Chris Marrow top-scored with 41 runs from 48 balls including five boundaries, while opener Burhan Mirza made 26 and captain Richard Knudsen 18*.

bowlers with his figures of 7-32 from 9.5 overs, which included the wicket of James Dalby for a golden duck.

Faaez Shamsi claimed Mirza in his 2-38 from seven overs and the other wicket was taken by Humza Majid (1-23).

The away side reached 139-1 from 16 overs for a third consecutive win this season, which sees them climb to second position in the table.

Opening batsman Faheem Quereshi carried his bat through for an unbeaten 68 from 52 balls with nine boundaries and three maximum hits.

Fellow opener Shafiq Khan made 34 from 38 and put on 96 runs with Quereshi for the first wicket.

The one wicket was taken by Joel Abbott (1-34 from four overs).

North Maidenhead welcome High Wycombe 2s to Summerleaze this Saturday (1pm start).

Boyne Hill have been knocked off top spot in the division following their one-wicket defeat at home to Slough 2s last weekend.

The home team won the toss and chose to bat first, reaching 204 runs all out from 42 overs.

Number five Sajid Ali was the top scorer with 53 runs and he put on 58 for the fifth wicket with Tom Mellor (22).

Matthew Leipold made 36 runs at the top of the order, before Ziya Mohamed added 31 batting at number seven.

Nadeem Syed and Naveed Akhtar were the best of the

Slough

bowlers, both with figures of 2-36 from 10 overs.

The other wickets fell to Syed Waqar Ali Shah (2-40 from 10 overs) and Saif Kazim (1-34 from six overs).

The visitors reached 205-9 from 44.5 overs in response for a win which takes them to fifth position in the league table.

Number three Muaaz Ali Ahmed top-scored with 44 runs with seven boundaries and one maximum hit.

Adam Ali made 29 and both Nabeel Janed and Ali Shah added 28.

The wickets were shared amongst the six Boyne Hill bowers, with Ziya Mohamed returning best figures of 3-41 from 10 overs. He was backed up by Leipold (2-32 from nine overs).

Boyne Hill make the trip to Wargrave this Saturday while Slough 2s host leaders Cove at Upton Court Park (1pm).
