BURNHAM made a disappointing return to the Hellenic Premier Division after a 3-0 defeat to Fairford Town on the opening day of the new season, writes Rob Stevens.

The Blues

won promotion as champions of Division One East last season but could not find a way past the visitors to The Gore on Saturday.

The first half ended goalless but strikes from Ben Lodge, Harvey Scholes and Dan Bailey in the second period ensured all three points went back to Fairford.
