MAIDENHEAD & Bray remain in relegation trouble in Division 2a of the Thames Valley League following a 108-run drubbing at title contenders Eversley, writes Richard Ashton.

Alex Davidson (58), Byron Hickman (57 from 34 balls) and Alex Sykes (41) were all among the runs for the Boars as they were bowled out for an imposing 277 five balls short of their 50-over allocation.

Max Thomas (3-60), Louis Blackwell (2-36), Pieter Walker (2-40) and John Child (2-42) all claimed at least a brace of wickets for the visitors.

Walker and Richard Lawrence put on 54 for the opening wicket, but a couple more wickets fell to leave Maids 83-3.

Thomas (53) completed a fine all-round performance, but after he fell to Tom Magowan (4-37), the away side collapsed from 139-3 to 169 all out and a heavy defeat.

Seventh-placed Maidenhead & Bray – who sit just six points above the drop zone – host third-placed Tring Park 2nds tomorrow (Saturday).

In Division 5b, promotion-chasing Maidenhead & Bray 2nds cruised to a facile seven-wicket triumph at home to Slough 4ths.

Arul Appavoo (4-30) was the pick of the Maids' attack as they knocked the visitors over for 118, and that score was nowhere near enough as Maids cruised to 121-3 in 31.5 overs.

Maidenhead & Bray 3rds climbed to third in Division 7a after thrashing Kidmore End 2nds by 156 runs.

Jatin Bathla smashed a wonderful 108 and Krish Vaja added 62 as the hosts racked up a commanding 277-6 in their 45 overs.

The Kidmore reply never really got going, and with Ewan Harris bagging 4-19, they were dismissed for 121.

Maidenhead & Bray 4ths moved up to second in Division 9a after collecting 20 points when opponents Wargrave 4ths conceded their game.
