WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club finished in third position overall in the second match of the Chiltern League Cross Country series at Milton Keynes on Saturday.

With a significant number of WSEH athletes opting to give the fixture a miss to focus on the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Championships this coming weekend, it was good to see the club finish on the podium.

Seb Cerillo had his best run to date to finish runner-up in the senior men's race. He was closely followed by Charlie Kershaw in sixth place, Ben Findlay in eighth and Simon Millett in ninth.

Alice Flint went one better to win the senior ladies race with Caroline Johnson in third spot and Juliet Soane in 18th position.

There was even more success in the U17s men's race with Will Barnicott first across the finish line. Liam Stone took third place, Alfie Spear fourth and Ed Henderson sixth to complete the team. Finlay Kirk finished in 13th spot.

The U20/17s ladies were also in good form. Morgan Hanson was first to appear in second position with Emmie Savory close at hand in third place. Katie Thompson was next to cross the line in seventh with the team completed by Abi White in 17th spot. The other finishes were Tia Hansford (16th) and Jodie Borgatz (17th).

There were just three WSEH athletes that started in the U15s boys race with Ethan Scott having a good run to finish as runners-up. He was followed by Toby Spencer in eighth and Finn Canning in 10th.

In the U15s girls race, Hannah Wooley was to the fore in third position with Carla Manning not far adrift in seventh. The pair were followed by Charlotte Bongars in 13th and Nicola Chamberlain in 20th.

The U13s boys race had Toby Kimmins in 11th spot, with Evan Hardy 14th and Sam Golding 17th.

There were just two WSEH athletes to face the starter in the U13 girls race and Annabel Bailey took 10th position.

WSEH contest the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Cross Country Championships at Prospect Park in Reading this Sunday. The first race will commence at 11.30am and the final event at 2.50pm.
