READING Athletic Club's Jess Gibbon raced to her second victory in successive weeks as she led her team to the gold medals in the women's Berks Bucks & Oxon Cross Country Championships at Prospect Park on Sunday.

Indeed, it was a successful day for Reading as they gained four individual medals and nine sets of team medals in total in the various races.

In the senior women's 6km race, Gibbon's time of 18m 51secs saw her claim gold from teammate Anna Boniface (20.11).

With veteran Sarah Urwin-Mann (20.23) finishing fourth Reading claimed the team victory easily.

In the U15 girls' 3.5km race, Ella Newman (sixth in 12.33), Holly Haldane (seventh in 12.35) and Evie Elson (ninth in 12.54) combined to also win silver.

Reading's U13 girls won bronze in their 3km race, with Lizzie Ryan (10th in 12.20), Georgie Langdon (13th in 12.29) and Emma Yeadon (14th in 12.30) completing the scoring team.

Other runners: Alex Marden (16th in 12.40); Gracie Haldane (17th in 12.54); Poppy Chick (33rd in 13.18).

Chris Parker (fourth in 11.14) ran well in the 3.5km U15 boys race, combining with Oli Snoxall (11th place in 11.20) and Ollie Craggs (13th in 11.34) to take third for the team.

Other runners: Edward Lewis (23rd in 12.09); George Urwin-Mann (27th place in 12.30); Nick Haldane (31st in 12.53); Aidan Marshall (34th in 13.07).

For Reading's U13 boys in their 3km race, Josh Smith (11th in 11.26), Tommy Elson (14th in 11.29) while Laurie Hahn (15th in 11.36) finished fifth.

In the U17 men's 6km race, Alfie McGlennon took 15th in 19.14, and Aryan Gupta's good effort of 19.36 gained him 20th.

Rohan Brooks came 26th in 20.35, while Isaac Mileham's dogged effort gave him 32nd in 24.14, and Reading finished eighth in the team competition.
