ANDREW Powley was the first Burnham Jogger back in the Dorney Dash held around Dorney Lake.

He finished in 19th place with 37 minutes 54 seconds followed by Chris Rose in 31st with a time of 38.44.

Rachel Sammes was first Burnham Joggers lady back in 43.23 just fending off a late challenge by Keith Scudamore in 43.25. Liz Annettes continued her impressive form in the ladies over-50 category and with Jo Stringer (45.18) and Alison Allen (48.42) joining Sammes as the ladies finished in an excellent second in the team event.

Other times were John Irwin (44.36), Simon Peralta (45.16), Charles Allen (45.17), Joe Hawkins (45.24), Lee Norcott (46.11), Richard Coleman (48.41), Sukjit Singh (48.52), Alison Morley (52.21), Pavla Metheringham (53.39), Tony Merritt (53.57), Kavan Harley (54.10), Marion Smith (57.34), Kerry Williams (61.15) and Nav Vestli (71.32).

With 10 km races coming think and fast, Liz Annetts won the ladies over-50 category in 45.42, while Bruce Cooke was the third over-60 man with 43.13 in the Wargrave 10km on a warm sunny morning.

Stephen Gawne was quickest for the joggers in 40.33. Other finishers were Keith Scudamore (44.04), John Monaghan (47.04), Karen Thomas (50.52), Alan Watson (56.27), Peter Riley (57.46), Suhjit Singh (61.16) and Mike Morgan (61.26).

For the second time this season the Joggers turned out the biggest club contingent at Hurley in the Summer 5 km series with 57 members finishing to add to the 61 at Wargrave two weeks ago. Martin Parrish put in an outstanding performance finishing in third position overall in 17.05, the fastest time by a Burnham Jogger for some years.

With two months to go local runners are encouraged to send their entries in for the 29th Burnham Beeches Half Marathon to be held on August 23.
