SLOUGH head coach Alan Walters has hailed the 47-17 win against Littlemore on Saturday as the best performance he has seen from his team.

The Greenies have swept all before them so far this season, winning all six of their league matches to top the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Premier plus making the Bucks Bowl semi-finals.

Despite the winning streak Walters has often criticised his team for a sub-par performance, but Slough showed what they could really do when dismantling Littlemore at Tamblyn Fields.

The delighted head coach told the Observer: "It was one of the best performances since I’ve been at the club.

“The players executed the gameplan very well after what happened at Wheatley the week before where we were not up for it and lucky to come away with a win.

“We had two good training sessions in midweek and put it to them for the majority of the match. It was a massive turnaround but I’ve been expecting a performance like that “We played to our strengths and to the gameplan and were too good for Littlemore in the end.

“Littlemore have done well since coming up and have surprised a few, but we played to our strengths and raised our levels.

“I was the best performance since I arrived as coach some 18 months ago.”

Sam Rowe, Matthew Fenwick and Charlie Turner all touched down twice in the win, while Max Miles also crossed the whitewash and booted six of his conversion attempts.

Next up for The Greenies is a trip to second from bottom Abingdon this Saturday (2.30pm) this Saturday.

Walters “The start we’ve made has put us up there but we’re now on a pedestal to be knocked over.

“But, the mentality is right and the size of the squad is good, and we were not in this position last season. We had to pick from players that in all fairness were not up to first team standards but they stepped in and done a job.

We’ve brought in players and now have a very strong group.”
