SLOUGH Jets have announced a string of new signings ahead of their new British National League season.

The club has confirmed that Jordan Ricketts - who has spent his entire hockey career playing at Wightlink Tigers - has joined the Jets for the 2014/15 season.

In his 78 senior games he has recorded 28 goals and 14 assists along with a hand full of appearances for ED1 Raiders team.

After signing his deal, Ricketts revealed: “I’m looking forward to playing off the Island for the first time. I really like the look of the team and hope I can contribute to this season.” Coach Tony Milton said “Jordan’s only 21 but is a very sensible player, playing smart hockey. He will be a good addition to the team.” General Manager Steve English said of the signing: “It’s been a busy summer with some great signings and, with Jordan here, we’re getting stronger.” The Jets have also announced they have retained the services of Conor Redmond, who started last season with the Jets, icing 17 times for the English Premier League team and 12 times for the National Ice Hockey League team, whilst recording 14 goals and 15 assists with only 2 penalty minutes.

He then moved to Bracknell where he picked up an injury which prevented him from finishing the season.

However, Redmond is now fully recovered and he says he can not wait to get back on the ice: “I’ve been speaking to the coach over the summer and he’s been telling me the future plans,” he said. “Everything he said so far has come through so I’m back.” Coach Milton added: “I’ve been after Red all summer, he’s one of the key parts of the jigsaw puzzle and I’ve got goals on every line now.” Slough have also announced the signing of Lewis Tribble, who played for the club for two seasons ago.

In 104 senior games he has scored 86 goals with 75 assists and registering 161 penalty minutes.

After penning his new deal, Tribble said: “I really enjoyed myself at Slough last time round and looking at the squad signed this season I’m really excited.” Coach Milton could not hide his delight with the signing and gushed: “Tribbs comes back to us from Wightlink Tigers where he was their leading goal scorer; He is a mature player although he is still only 22.” The Jets have also announced two further additions to strengthen their netminding team.

Having already secured the services of Danny Milton last month, the club has also resigned last season’s back-up netminder Simon Johnston.

When he was called up on he had an impressive campaign with a save rate of 91.53%.

Also joining the team is young prospect Toby Curtis-Wyld, who has progressed through the junior ranks to gain his place in the senior squad.

Milton added: “We have a great Netminder team now with Danny and Simon through to an upcoming youngster in Toby.” With more players being announced soon, the club is looking for people to sponsor squad members.
