The Rebels returned to league action for the first time since October 24 and after four consecutive cup matches but kept their focus for a comfortable win.

Goals from George Wells and James Dobson gave Slough a clear lead heading into the half-time break, before substitute Josh Jackman secured the points four minutes from time.

Tickets for the FA Cup second round tie against Rochdale went on sale on Saturday and 923 supporters came to Arbour Park to purchase theirs. It is Slough’s biggest attendance for a league match this season.

The win means Slough have moved up to second position in the league table, six points behind leaders King’s Lynn Town but with three matches in hand.

Josh Bowden and Alex Scott both scored twice in the final 10 minutes to heap misery on Burnham and leave them fourth from bottom in the league table.

Burnham make the short journey to Binfield on Monday (7.45pm) and then Windsor this Saturday (3pm).
