SLOUGH Town ladies started life in Division Three East of the Thames Valley Counties League with a 2-2 draw at Penn & Tylers Green on Sunday.

Penn pinned the Rebels back in their own half towards the end of the first period and a long shot aided by the wind flew into the top corner to give them the lead.

The home team then won a corner and scored with a low header to double their advantage in the final minute of the first half.

Slough changed their formation at the break and began to dominate possession. Lucy Passfield played Shannon Daly through on goal and she finished with a delicate chip over the keeper midway through the second half.

The Rebels’ constant pressure was then rewarded with the best goal of the game. Charli Davies played the ball to Passfield 25-yards from goal and she it a powerful half-volley into the bottom left-hand corner.

Player-of-the-match for Slough was centre back Vicky Stanford.

Slough Town ladies return to action this Sunday with a trip to Guildford Saints.
