CINEMA goers were left shocked and stunned after the food area was trashed following a fight that left a staff member with a broken nose.

Police were called to Empire Slough cinema, in High Street, after reports of two men being abusive towards staff at 9.09pm on Tuesday.

A fight had broken out and a member of staff was rushed to Wexham Park Hospital for treatment on a broken nose.

Two men, who were with a girl at the time, then left the building before returning and trashing the food area.

A cinema goer who saw the aftermath of the fight compared the scene to World War Three. He said: "All the staff were shaken up. It was like World War Three had gone off." He posted a picture on Twitter which showed a popcorn stand smashed with drinks, nachos and popcorn scattered across the floor.

The Windsor father-of-one was watching the Will Smith film After Earth with a friend from Cippenham when the fight broke out.

He heard someone screaming and shouting when they burst into the film showing, but passed it off as kids messing about.

But when the cinema goers left the showing they found the place 'completely trashed' with shaken-up staff waiting for police to arrive. The roofer added: "Everyone was stunned. We were all starring and wondering what was going on." It was the first time he had visited Slough for years, adding: "I won't be coming back to Slough again." A statement release by Empire Cinemas read: "Late last night there was an unprovoked violent attack on members of staff at Empire Slough. This resulted in the police being called." It added: "Empire Cinemas is cooperating with the police with their investigation and will be looking to press charges and prosecute those concerned." Two men, aged 18 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm in connection with the incident.
