SLOUGH CC has launched the next phase of its expansion with thanks to support and funding from the Biffta Community Fund.

Biffta have provided funding for the most advanced all-weather cricket nets available on the market to be installed at Slough.

The new facilities at Upton Court Road provide five separate nets in an outdoor, but enclosed, all weather surface.

It also provides different surfaces to suit various types of bowling and batting experiences, from slow spinning to medium and fast tracks.

The main aim of the Biffta Community Fund is to widen participation, and help to engage and develop communities.

A spokesperson said: “We’re delighted to support this project because of the contribution it will make to engage more young people.

“The project will also enable many more of them to develop and go on to represent Slough, their county, or even England.

“We know how difficult it can be when young people have a desire to participate but are prevented by a lack of facilities due to insufficient resources.

“We wish Slough Cricket Club and the Slough community many years of enjoyment and pleasure in building great cricketers for the future.” Slough CC chairman and first team captain, Bobby Sher, added: “We would like to thank the Biffta Community Fund for this significant investment in the future cricket potential of Slough.

“In recent years we have seen a growing increase in demand from young people wishing to play cricket.

“These facilities will enable them to use the best available to any youngsters in the country, and will allow our seniors to perform at the highest levels.

“We look forward to working with parents, coaches and new players as we maximise their participation.” SLOUGH CC has launched the next phase of its expansion with thanks to support and funding from the Biffta Community Fund.
