WORK Ready was the theme for a students last week as they took part in a three-day conference with Learning to Work.
Year 10 students from Baylis Court School, in Gloucester Avenue, Slough, were given the opportunity to interact with more than 60 business ambassadors to develop their employability skills and gain an insight in to a range of career options in the conference which ran from Monday July 13 to Wednesday July 15.
Their activities included customer service and first impression workshops, as well as CV building and having the chance to work 'on site’ on their final day to get a feel for the work place in a man-made working environment. Nancy Lalor, operations manager at Learning to Work, said: “The event at Baylis Court School was created to explore what Work Ready really looks like and to help raise awareness of the expectations from the world of work. Throughout the three days students participated in a number of activities each headed up and delivered by business experts, it really was careers advice brought to life!”
