Police in Slough joined forces with a local charity this week to host a Stop and Search workshop as part of an event to create better understanding and awareness amongst young people.

Fifty-two young people were present at the event which took place at the offices of Aik Saath, Church Street, in Slough last Tuesday (18/8).

The evening featured a workshop on Stop and Search, a question and answer session, as well as a ‘hands on’ exploration of the kit used by police officers.

Slough Observer:

Langley’s neighbourhood policing sergeant Daniel William Burt, who worked with Aik Saath to organise the event, said: “On behalf of myself and the other officers who took part in this very enjoyable experience, I would like to say a massive thank you to the staff who invited us and allowed us to be involved in such a valuable community project.

“We would also like to extend our huge thanks to the youths who showed and shared their honest opinions in the Q&A session, for their enthusiasm and interest in the equipment demonstration and lastly the very mature, thoughtful feedback in the stop and search role play. We look forward to many more events ahead.”
