A SNEAK peek has been given to fans of an iconic television series which celebrated its 50th birthday this week.

On Wednesday, Gerry Anderson’s ground-breaking British puppet show Thunderbirds celebrated its 50th birthday and three new episodes are currently being made at the show’s original home at SEGRO’s Slough Trading Estate to mark the anniversary.

However, to mark the actual anniversary on Wednesday, a set of images were released showing Lady Penelope’s stylish wardrobe in the new episodes including two outfits which are originals from the 1960s.

It was announced in July that Thunderbirds was returning to its spiritual home in Stirling Road, on Slough Trading Estate, to film three new episodes after a successful Kickstarter campaign to raise £200,000.

Gerry Anderson’s Thunderbirds was originally written, produced and filmed at Slough Trading Estate between 1964 and 1966.

The new episodes, created by Stephen La Riviere under the “Thunderbirds 1965” name and supported by ITV, Sylvia Anderson, and the Gerry Anderson estate, as represented by his son Jamie Anderson, will see Mr La Rivière and company film recreate puppets and sets using all of the classic Supermarionation techniques and combine this with the original audio recordings to create three brand new video episodes in the distinctive Thunderbirds style.

The first official clip from Thunderbirds 1965 was also released this week on Sunday.
