A WHOLE school effort has provided 120 gift boxes to be delivered to less fortunate families and the elderly this Christmas.
Pupils at St Bernard’s Preparatory School, in Hawtrey Close, Langley, have clubbed together to provide special Christmas shoe boxes for those in need.
The boxes contain things like socks, hats, soap, sweets, cuddly toys, combs and wind-up torches – items that many can often take for granted but can mean a lot to others.
Sarah Whittaker, Year 6 teacher, said: “My Year 6 class were very excited to see the boxes being filled.
“The boxes were growing like a wall in our classroom and the children were really proud of them.
“The boxes seemed to get across the message across to the children that we are extremely lucky.”
She added: “We had the boxes stacked up around the piano and when the parents came in they were impressed and quite chuffed they’d got involved.”
