STUDENTS received recognition for their dedication and hard work while on work experience placements.
Year 11 pupils at Burnham Grammar School, in Hogfair Lane, were awarded for their efforts while completing a programme of work experience during an awards ceremony last Thursday.
Pritesh Patel, 15-years-old, won Learning To Work’s prize for his work with the disabled children at Arbour Vale School.
He said: "Seeing these children made me feel so grateful to be independent and even more determined to follow a career in neuroscience. The children and staff were inspirational, and I hope that I will one day be able to help them. Thank you to Learning To Work for organising this.”
Andy Gillespie, headteacher, said: "We believe that work experience is an essential element of the activities that go into fulfilling our school aim of ‘being prepared for the future’.
Many students now have offers to volunteer at their employers, some have part-time jobs and many now know more about how to progress in their chosen career path.
