SHEIKHS, the Spice Girls and superheroes were all rushing around South Bucks to compete in a fundraising cannonball run.

The Black Horse Cannonball Run featured around 45 people taking part in the event on Saturday, jazzing up their cars and dressing in fancy dress to take part at the event, starting at the pub in Windmill Road, Fulmer.

The event was held in aid of Keith Ward, a long-serving barman at the pub who had suffered from a stroke, and managed to raise more than £1,000.

Organiser Richard Walker said: "It went great - it was absolute chaos and everybody made a really good effort.

"It was an on-the-road quiz. We gave them riddles and they had to use their phones to search for the clues and take a picture at the locations.

"They were also tasked with taking pictures with a celebrity and some drove to the houses of Mary Berry, Brian Connolly and Dennis Wise and managed to get a picture with them - they were really good sports.

"It was a day of anarchy and chaos and everybody had a great time."
