Slough Borough Council’s members’ community cohesion group has, released a statement following the devasting shooting in Orlando on Sunday.
The attack happened in a gay nightclub, killing 49 people and injuring 53 others.
The statement said: “We are shocked and saddened by the horrific attack taking innocent lives in Orlando on Sunday.
“No one should live their lives with the fear of being gunned down; let alone when they are harming no one and expressing and enjoying themselves with friends and loved ones.
“We stand with the world in condemning the actions of the gunman who, instead of choosing the path of tolerance and understanding, chose cold-blooded murder.
“Intolerance of others only breeds hatred and ignores the huge evidence that across communities, across ages and across sexuality more unites us than divides us.
“Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and loved ones.”
