THOUSANDS of people turned out for a popular fun day for all the family.

The Family Picnic was held for the third year on Sunday at the Polish Club Gryf in Church Lane, Slough with a combination of sport and cultural activities available for all.

Organised in collaboration between the Polish Community and Polish Association groups, the event attracted more than 2,000 people.

Dr Robert Burzynski, a trustee at Polish Community, said: "It went very well. We had favourable weather in the fact that it didn't rain, but I still think it put a few people off.

"It was well attended but we estimate that there was less people that last year, but there was still a couple of thousand people throughout the day.
