A FUN day was had by all as hundreds of people attended a celebration of Harvest.

Langley Memorial Park hosted Harvest Celebration in the Park on Saturday, with around 500 people attending to enjoy arts and crafts, games and performances, as well as to help those less fortunate by donating food and living essentials.

It is the second year of hosting the event, and the numbers of attendees was up on last year which delighted the churches in Langley which organised the event.

Cindy Dinsmore, district secretary at Christ The Worker Church, said: "The vicars were very pleased with it. The weather helped tremendously but I think everybody had fun.

"We were trying to outreach to the community and the guest speakers were letting people in the community know that they are there and help is available.

"There are people that are less fortunate and these organisations do great work to help them."

Representatives from Christian Aid, Slough Homeless Our Concern (SHOC), the Salvation Army and TraidCraft were the guest speakers, and they all informed visitors of the work they do and how residents can help out.

Harvest is a traditional annual celebration in which foods are collected and donated to the less fortunate members of society and senior citizens.
