A CHOIR put on an impromptu performance last week – bringing music to Slough’s new cultural centre and library.
The group from Slough Community Mental Health Team’s Hope College staged the flash mob in the café area of The Curve in William Street, Slough, to the surprise of unsuspecting visitors.
Hope College’s choir, The Vibe Tribe, formed four years ago and had been practising for three weeks for the performance.
The choir sang a number of popular tunes using acapella and rounds, including Oh What a Beautiful Morning, One Small Candle, You Raise Me Up and Oh Jesus.
Organiser and recovery support worker with Hope College, Daria Georgievskaya, said: “It was a great experience for everyone and helped to merge the gap between the mentally disabled and the rest of the community.”
Hope College offers four “pathways” to help people with mental health problems, including recovery, life skills, building towards recovery and peer support.
