A TEENAGER suffered serious head injuries last week in an altercation with another boy and required surgery, it has emerged.

Thames Valley Police is investigating the incident of alleged grievous bodily harm in Burnham.

It happened last Thursday, April 13 when the victim got into an altercation with another boy and was punched and kicked in St Peters Park, Saint Peters Close around 6.30pm.

He suffered serious head injuries and attended Wexham Park Hospital where he was only discharged after having surgery.

Investigating officer, Det Con Chris Downs, said, “It is believed that there were a large number of young persons at the park at the time of the assault, the victim is believed to have fled the scene running up to the High Street near Tesco.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should get in touch via the Thames Valley enquiry centre on 101.

A 15-year-old boy from Slough has been arrested. Police said that he remained in custody this afternoon, April 19, but will be released under investigation.
