  • Do you have good quality furniture you would like to get rid of? Charity Slough Furniture Project, in Farnham Road, desperately needs furniture to supply to people who need it the most.   • A SERIES of events related to watercolour and virtual reality take place tomorrow, Saturday. Artists Sophie Mellor and Simon Poulter will host The Slough Watercolour Challenge at The Curve for painters of all ages, abilities and experience. It will encourage a new way of looking at the town and runs from 11am to 5pm.
  • A GIANT inflatable spider will take centre stage at the Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre in Slough High Street next Saturday, October 28. It is part of Halloween festivities from 11am to 4pm which includes facepainting for the little ones, cake decorating and fancy dress.
  • Slough and Windsor Railway Society’s talk next Friday, October 27, is entitled British Steam on Home Movies and is presented by Graham Robinson. It takes place at The Manor in Brunel Way, Slough Railway Station.

  • Sensational singer, Lois Matthews entertains on Saturday from 9.15pm at The Faraday Social Club in Slough. On Sunday solo artist Mikki Jons takes to the stage for songs from the sixties, seventies as well as soul.
