THE UNDEAD descended on the streets yesterday (Saturday) evening as hundreds of hungry zombies went in search of human victims.

Thankfully the flesh eaters were only taking part in the fifth Maidenhead Zombie Walk, which saw crowds stumble through the town centre before arriving at the Town Hall around 6pm in St Mary's Walk.

They were led on the walk by Town Crier of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Chris Brown, who had himself been turned into a ghoulish monster for the event.

He said: "I have my cry prepared and my bell with me but it is a bit dead at the moment."

The event, which is supported by the Rotary Club of Maidenhead Bridge, raised money for homeless charity, the Brett Foundation.

A Monster Mash party took place afterwards in the Anchor Pub with £3 entry fees all going to charity.
