The Windmill Care Home in Bath Road welcomed Slough's mayor Cllr Ishrat Shah to its annual open day.
She was greeted with a bouquet from a cub scout and met residents and their families.
The sun shone for long enough to enable residents and guests to enjoy a barbecue in the garden.
But rain threatened later, so the party moved inside for entertainment for all from Bus Pass to Broadway, a troupe of over 60s coached and led by a trio of theatre professionals.
Activities co-ordinator for the home Richie Robles was delighted with the day and grateful for the visit.
He said: “Residents in care homes can feel isolated, so to receive a visit from our mayor re-assures us that we are not forgotten in our community.”
