SCOUTS are celebrating strong growth across the borough, with a surge of young people signing up to the organisation.
The Scouts, now in their 100th year, are stronger than ever in Slough, with 542 Scouts recorded, and 265 volunteers - representing an eight per cent increase over last year.
An appeal for volunteers in 2017 gathered widespread support β with 241 new volunteers signing up in the last 12 months across Berkshire, supporting 124 new Scouts.
Dave Shaw, lead volunteer for Slough Scouts, said: βIt is great to see such growth for Scouting in Slough, both in youth members and volunteers. Much of this is down to our amazing volunteers.β
