A 54-year-old man has been jailed for fourteen weeks after stealing a car and driving it with a fake number plate and no valid license.
Trevor Alphonso Smith, of Slade Road, Birmingham, also failed to stop for police and to attend Reading Magistrates Court while on bail.
He stole the Mitsubishi Shogun from Windsor on December 23, 2020, and drove it on Southlea Road, Datchet, near Slough, before skipping court on January 31, 2022.

At Wycombe Magistrates' Court on May 9, the judge sentenced Smith to two weeks in prison for failing to appear in court, six weeks for driving while disqualified and another six weeks for taking the car without the owner’s consent.
The judge considered his offences to be more serious in light of previous convictions.
