A charity has said that they are “disgusted” after another two birds were found dead from a catapult attack in Windsor.

Swan Support, established to support injured birds, said that ‘lives have been needlessly lost due to a mindless and brutal act of deliberate cruelty.’

The two ducks were found by the Eton Bridge when they were informed that a youth was out catapulting the swans, ducks and wildlife in the local area.

In a post on Facebook, Swan Support said that upon finding the bird which was attacked, they noticed that one of its babies who had stayed under it’s wing to stay warm had also sadly past away following the attack.

Wendy Hermon, from Swan support said: “It’s absolutely disgusting how people can even think about doing this, and you never get over the feeling.

“It affects us every single time and it’s always so upsetting. There’s just no need for this mindless act of cruelty which we are seeing far too regularly in Windsor.”

Swan Support are called out to pick up birds and wildlife who have been injured or killed in the Windsor and Datchet area.

During this attack, the charity also found a squirrel and a pigeon who were found dead as a result of the catapulting.

Wendy added: “Swans, ducks and other wildlife are protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and it is therefore illegal to deliberately injure them.

“Unfortunately as the evenings get lighter we do see an increase in this disgusting behaviour and if you witness any such act then to please call 999.”

“More needs to be done to protect wildlife and we will be pulling together a petition and also writing letters to the MP’s and Thames Valley Police.

“If you feel as heartbroken and as angry as we do, we urge you to also write and hopefully our collective voices will be loud enough for some action to be taken!”
