A poll that last year named Slough as the fourth worst place to live has resurfaced with a twist.

The iLiveHere annual poll is no longer asking people where the worst place to live is.

Instead, the poll is searching for the most depressing town in England.

Its introduction reads: "Bland, Boring, Soul destroying mediocrity with a gaping cultural void. This is what our new poll is about.

"This year we are ditching the usual suspects to focus on those towns throughout this septic isle that give you an almost-terminal case of ennui.

"The towns where you just exist rather than live."

No towns are exempt from the vote, with Slough seeming to be up against neighbouring Maidenhead and High Wycombe.

Individuals can add their own towns to the list, which has been growing - however, Windsor is yet to become an option.

Last year the poll achieved national attention with many divided over the results.
