An Indian takeaway is hoping to expand into Buckinghamshire after entering a new venture.

Mr Singh Curry King, which was founded in Hurley, has recently set up shop at Maidenhead United’s York Road stadium where they sell their spicy dishes to football fans who visit the world’s oldest continually used football ground.

The business was contacted by the Magpies at the back end of 2023 and has so far offered their services at their last five home league matches.

This includes the recent 1-0 defeat against Ebbsfleet Town, which was their midweek experience.

And despite having a regular clientele in Maidenhead, they plan to reach out to those along the Berkshire/Buckinghamshire border.

Roly Bhalla, whose father, Sunny, co-owns the establishment, said: “We’ve only been here for five matches so we’re still quite new but we’re loving it.

“We wanted to expand a bit so when we got approached by Maidenhead and now we do the catering at home games.

“It’s a decent gig.”

The company was founded seven years ago by Mr Sunny Bhalla who ‘always had a passion for Indian food’, with the entrepreneur balancing his eatery project alongside his day job, where he is the manager director of BA Partnership Ltd – a company that focuses on office solutions.

He was initially the sole owner but after meeting software engineer Anisha Shukla on a train commute to the capital city, she decided to buy 50 per cent of the business.

She is also one of the chefs.

Anisha said: “People can order takeaways and we haven’t got any limited operational hours or anything.

“We cater to everyone so if you put an order in, you will get it.

“All of this food is cooked within our homes fresh with local ingredients and all the meat comes from a local butcher.

When asked about the importance of supporting local businesses, she added: “It’s so important because we know that our food is fresh, and with some chains,  you don’t know what’s been added.

“We make our food the night before and we’ve always had amazing reviews.

“it’s incredibly important for people to try out local businesses.

“We haven’t had any bad reviews in since we’ve been at York Road as people have come back.”

The establishment also has a five star food hygiene rating from their recent inspection in November 2023.
