A man has been served over £1,000 in fines and court costs after being caught speeding at almost 90 miles per hour on a motorway.
Jonathan Diver, 60, of Billet Lane, Iver, drove on the M40 near Milton Common on August 31, 2023.
A police officer caught him travelling at 86mph - well above the national speed limit.
He appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on April 30 this year, where he pleaded guilty to a charge of speeding.
Magistrates banned Diver from the road for six months - but they did not believe this was punishment enough.
In addition, he was ordered to pay a £923 fine, £90 in court costs and a £369 victim surcharge.
This means the speeding has ultimately cost him over £1,000.
His driving licence has also been endorsed with three points.
