FILM fans are guaranteed the ultimate movie experience as Pinewood Studios hosts its first ever drive-in movie show.
Called Fright Night for Halloween films The Omen and The Shining are projected onto the world's largest cinema screen, which measures 73.1m by 18.3m, ensuring each of the 350 cars which can attend, have a perfect view.
Sound for the movies comes through an FM radio channel which drivers can tune into and there is low level surround sound outside. A waitress service for hot and cold refreshments direct to the car will be available.
In The Shining, which was filmed partly at Pinewood, Jack Nicholson plays the terrifying recovering alcoholic Jack Torrence who takes his family to an isolated, evil hotel for the winter. It will open on Saturday at 8pm for an 8.45pm start.
The Omen, where a US ambassador discovers his son Damian is the antichrist, will open on Saturday at 4pm for a 4.45pm start.
The films are the first in a series of winter drive-in movies at the studio in Pinewood Road, Iver Heath, with the last shown on December 6.
On Sunday Dr Strangelove will show, starting at 4.45pm and Bridget Jones' Diary will be at 8.45pm.
VIP tickets cost £55 per car of four people, including VIP parking and service, and standard tickets are £35 for a car of four people.
For tickets visit www.seetickets.com and search Pinewood Studio under the venue tab.

Dont waste your money, trust me.
Its a shambles and if it rains ur car will be stuck or the battery will go flat keeping the wipers on. When its cold everyone has engines running to keep warm which interferes with the sound and crackles on radio.
Its not worth the money by a long shot.
You can get these films from blockbuster for less than a fiver and buy nice drinks and food for less money in the comfort of your own home

It took us two hours to exit the car park, never again.
Totally unorganised. With Vip tickets nobody came to offer us the promised food drinks, we had to go and ask and still the staff forgot. Sound was awful and crackily with interference from a local radio station.
Waste of money and time , wish we hadnt travelled all the way from London, big dissapointment i am afraid to say...

Waste of money.
Don't bother.
Stay at home and get a take away and film.
Useless and they must have had plenty of time to organise yet clearly hadn't.

TOTAL CHAOS AND THE RUDEST UNINTERESTED STAFF I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED
THE FILM CHOICES ARE RATHER POOR FOR A COMPANT LIKE PINEWOOD. MINIMAL EFFORT TO TRY AND MAKE A QUICK BUCK

These low lifes are contributing to massive and unecessary co2 and other horrible emissions while hundreds of cars leave their engines running to keep the occupants warm.
They should hang their heads in shame.

when i went it was raining but it was explained that it was fine to leave your car running as nobody else could hear and the sound quality in the car was very good. i have to say one or two cars did break down but the ushers came out with a box and jumped them again within seconds.
