A GOLF club owner is hoping to get his application to allow additional entertainment activities approved.

Danny Ranshi, owner of Iver Golf Club for three years, has applied to South Bucks District Council for a variation in his licence which would allow for plays, films, indoor sporting events, live music, recorded music, performances of dance, entertainment facilities for dancing and the provision of late night refreshment.

A revised application, which is to go before the licensing committee on Monday, asks for the supply of alcohol until 2am on Monday to Thursday and until 3am on Friday to Sunday, rather than two-hour sales which were applied for originally.

It also asks for outdoor entertainment until midnight every day, along with 10 special event licences per year until 3am and for entertainment indoors from Monday to Thursday until 2am and from Friday-Sunday until 3.30am, along with 10 special event licenses until 4am. Eighty objections were received, including a petition from 10 residents in Mansion Lane. A petition of support with 122 signatures was also sent during the consultation period. In the application, Mr Ranshi said the licensing changes would help the club compete with other modern clubs nearby.

He said: “The new licensing permissions will allow us to carry out the activities and functions to generate revenue to make further improvements to the facilities.” The application will be discussed at Capswood in Denham on Monday at 10am.
