A 31-year-old man charged in connection with a series of robberies will stand trial in July.

Mohammed Hussain, of Hanover Way, Dedworth, was released on conditional bail at Slough Magistrates' Court on Friday (13/4) to appear before Reading Crown Court on July 26.

He was charged during the early hours of Friday morning (13/4), with one count of attempted robbery, three counts of robbery, and one count of making off without payment.

The attempted robbery occurred in Lyndhurst Road, Ascot, at about 6.05am on February 11. A 71-year-old man was walking along the road when a dark-coloured vehicle pulled-up alongside him. The pensioner was told to hand over his wallet, however he refused and ran to a nearby shop.

The robbery charges relate to three other incidents on February 11. The first involved a 17-year-old girl, who was walking along Albert Road, Old Windsor, at 6.50am when a car pulled up and a man got out and demanded she hand over her mobile. The girl refused, but her handbag was snatched.

Then, between 6.50am and 7.50am, a 15-year-old girl was in Slough Road, Datchet, when she was threatened and her handbag was stolen.

In the last incident, at about 7.30am, a woman was walking in York Road, Windsor, when a car pulled-up and a man got out and stole her handbag before getting back into the car and driving off.
