A vicious knife attack on a 47-year-old man sitting on his car has sent shock waves through Slough.

It happened on Friday evening at 8pm in Mildenhall Road as the victim sat in his car near the junction of Littleport Spur.

A white flatbed van pulled up alongside. Three men then got out, theatened him with the knife and tried to steal his red Smart car.

During the incident the victim received a stab wound to his neck and right hand.The attackers stole a small amount of cash and the victim's car keys before making off on the van.

He was treated for minor stab wounds at Slough's Wexham Park Hospital.

The attackers were all white but there is no further description at the moment.

Investigating Officer PC Ryan Powell, of Slough CID, said: “This was a shocking incident for the victim involved, who thankfully was not seriously injured.

"I would like to appeal for anyone with information to contact us. He If you have any information whatsoever, please contact me via the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101.

“If you don’t want to speak directly to police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
