A CHURCH spread the Christmas spirit early this year by carrying out work in the community.
Members of Christ Embassy Church, in Petersfield Avenue, Slough, carried out garden work and gave out presents like food hampers at care homes around Slough on December 3.
The group attended a number of the council-run homes in the town, helping out by trimming hedges, pruning flowers, sweeping patios and tidying up.
Organiser and Chairman of the Church chairman, Donald Diamond, said: “Our church motto is ‘Christ Embassy – giving your life a meaning’. As a result, all we know is a life of giving and sharing God’s love.” Our giving can be our time and our resources to impact lives in our communities.”
The group also visited Slough Foodbank, Millennium House and Serena Hall to offer a helping hand and distribute presents.
Pastor Nic Egbaran added: “True Christianity is not really a religion, but rather a lifestyle. That lifestyle involves investing in our local communities and meeting various needs. The church today is suppose to be gift and a blessing to mankind.”
