A 38-year-old woman has died - a week after she and a nine-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a crash on the A308 Marlow Road.

The accident happened at 10.20am last Wednesday, July 26.

A black Vauxhall Corsa travelling towards Maidenhead was in collision with a blue Nissan Qashqai coming the other way, near the junction with the Lodge.

The injured woman driver and the girl were both taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. The driver died in hospital yesterday, six days after the crash.

The nine-year-old girl has been discharged.

The three occupants of the Qashqai, the driver, a woman in her fifties and two 17-year-old boys, were treated at Slough's Wexham Park Hospital for minor injuries.

Officers from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing are investigating the collision. No one has been arrested.

Investigating officer Police Constable Emma Wallis, from Roads Policing based in Taplow, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already given details to the police or anyone who saw the vehicles travelling shortly before the collision.

"If you have any information which could assist our investigation please come forward and speak to police."
