EIGHTEEN new council homes have been completed by Slough Borough Council.

A whole street of homes, named Foxglove Close, has been finished, and will be allocated as soon as possible to families on the council’s housing waiting list.

The properties are mostly two and three bedroom family homes, excluding one bungalow that was specifically designed and built for tennants with disabilities.

The building project is part of the Wexham Green development, a new estate of properties being built on the sight of the former Wexham Nursery, on Wexham Road.

When complete, the development will deliver 104 two, three and four-bedroom properties, 34 of which will be affordable.

Councillor Mohammed Nazir said: “Housing is at a premium in Slough and none more so than affordable homes.

“We promised to build more and better council homes for people on our housing waiting list and these 18 properties are perfect.”

The tennants will be moving into their new homes in the coming week.
