Firefighters had to douse fires deliberately started alongside the Slough section of the Grand Union Canal on Saturday morning.
The arsonists seem to have targeted bedding possibly used by homeless people - although firefighters did not see any in the vicinity.
It took the team from Slough 20 minutes to put out one blaze at Middlegreen Road and an hour to douse bedding in Uxbridge Road.
