HUMAN remains found in shrubbery near a petrol station are believed to be a man with mental health issues who went missing more than six months ago.

Police found the remains in undergrowth next to the BP Malthouse Service Station, in Beaconsfield, on Thursday, February 9.

No formal identification has been carried out but police believe the body may be that of 37-year-old David Walters who was reported missing from his care home in Stoke Poges Lane, Manor Park, on July 29.

The remains were removed from the scene on Thursday evening and later taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

A post mortem was undertaken the day after but the cause of death is still unknown. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Walter's family have been informed and asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

A police investigation is on going.
