A STUNNED pupil had stars in her eyes after opening her results envelope to find it sparkling with A*s.
Emma Flint achieved an incredible 12 A*s, as 96.5% of Slough Grammar School pupils scored five A* to C grades.
The 16-year-old, who also got an A in an AS-level French exam she took a year early, said: "I have worked really, really hard and I'm so happy with my results. The deal was if I got 10 A*s my family would buy me an iPad - so I'm delighted!" The school, in Lascelles Road, had 64.5% of pupils achieving more than five A* to C grades, including English and maths, and 46% of got five or more A* to A grades.
Mercedes Hern�ndez Estrada, headteacher, said: "Slough Grammar School is very pleased to contradict the headlines in the national press regarding the attainment of pupils in this year's GCSE results and English in particular. We need to celebrate the incredible achievements of our pupils and congratulate them."
